The Library will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27. We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, and reopen on Friday, November 29, at 9 a.m. according to our usual schedule. Have a happy Thanksgiving holiday!

Give back this winter at the Library

Each Winter, the Library partners with local nonprofit organizations to serve as a collection site for everything from mittens to macaroni and cheese. We hope you’ll join us in contributing to these worthy causes. Please note each one has its own deadline for donations.

A tree serves as the collection site for donations of new hats, gloves and mittens for WINGS, a domestic violence shelter for women and children.

Cozy Comforts Drive for WINGS Program

Through December 23, we are collecting new hats, scarves, gloves and mittens in the Children’s Services department and our second floor lobby. New and unworn items only, please. All donations will be given to families seeking shelter from domestic violence through local WINGS locations.

Toy collection site for Toys for Tots

We are once again partnering with the Park Ridge Police Department to collect new toys for kids in need through Toys for Tots. Leave your donation in the marked bin in our first floor lobby through December 13.

Park Ridge Youth Services Commission Food Drive

The Library’s Teen Services staff partners with the Park Ridge Youth Services Commission on various community projects, including its annual food drive supporting the Maine Township Food Pantry. The Food Drive will be held in February 2025, when food pantries begin to see a decline in donations. The Library serves as a collection site, as do several local businesses. A complete list is available at parkridge.us. The “wish list” from Maine Township will also be posted on our website.
