The annual Spring Book Sale organized by the Friends of the Park Ridge Library raised more than $8,400 last weekend, the second-highest grossing Book Sale in their history. The Friends hosted its annual Spring Book Sale in the first floor meeting room at the Library on Saturday, May 4. A special Members Only Preview Night is open to members of the Friends of the Library on Friday evening, and a Half-Price Sale was held Sunday, May 5, from Noon to 2 p.m.
Friends of the Library memberships can always be purchased online at parkridgelibrary.org/join-the-friends/.
The Friends Book Sales consistently feature recent fiction and nonfiction bestsellers, as well as some classics typically on high school required reading lists. They also have a variety of children’s picture and chapter books, travel guides, history, cookbooks, and all types of craft books. In addition, there are feature and classic movies and TV shows on DVD as well as CDs and vinyl ranging from jazz and classical to country and rock.
The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, dedicated to the support of the Library. Through an annual membership drive and several large book sales, the Friends raise money for special programs, collections and services that enhance the Library and benefit the community. Each year the Friends contribute more than $20,000 to the Library. For more information, visit their webpage.
